We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our family-owned winery. This role is crucial in maintaining the family-oriented atmosphere that sets our winery apart while implementing professional HR practices.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Staffing
- Develop and implement effective hiring strategies for front-of-house and back-of-house positions
- Promote job openings through preferred channels, including online platforms and local networks
- Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates to ensure the best fit for our winery’s culture
- Prepare job offers
Employee Relations and Development / Training
- Conduct new employee onboarding and orientation sessions
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
- Manage performance evaluation processes and provide constructive feedback
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely and professional manner
Compensation and Benefits
- Assist with payroll processing
- Work with VP of HR to Develop competitive compensation and benefits packages to improve employee retention
- Administer employee benefits programs and handle related inquiries
Compliance and Administration
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, especially those related to the hospitality industry
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce health and safety protocols
- Stay informed about HR trends and best practices in the hospitality industry
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in HR management, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to food & alcohol service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software programs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Passion for creating a positive work culture in a family-owned business setting
- Evenings and weekends as required
